More than 10 thousand canvases are represented in Odessa Fine Arts Museum, which include early works of Wassily Kandinsky, Zinaida Serebriakova, Nicholas Roerich, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin. These paintings are represented in Serebriakovsky room.
Perfect Group and SAGA Development decided to repair the room storing the works of the painter, in whose honour the KANDINSKY Odessa Residence has been named. The outer walls of Serebriakovsky room will be repaired and finances will be allocated for the purchase of a heat-strengthened glass for repair of a roof lantern. At the moment, due to numerous damages to the facade and roof of the room, there are no proper conditions for storing paintings.
The works schedule includes dismantling of the damaged pieces of the façade of the room with the height of 1-1,2 m, application of a new plaster coat and painting of the walls. In order to protect foundation from rain water, the building footing will be covered with waterproofing coat and new perimeter walks in a form of special paved paths will be laid along the outer walls. A higher door sill which will protect building from the rain water will be built.
The final stage of the works will be installation of the elements of roof drainage system. Rainwater funnels and pipes along the walls of the room will be replaced by new and zinc-coating ones. They easily resist the moisture and are less exposed to temperature strains.
At the moment, the exterior repair works are being carried out and the materials for inner works have already been purchased.Return to the news
